The main objective of this project was to connect organizations and artists from Tbilisi and Kutaisi. We achieved this goal, as all artists who were involved in the project or who attended as spectators remain in communication and are now forming the foundations for future collaborative work.
Another important objective was to bring together artists from different art forms in order to enrich and expand their individual practices. This proved especially meaningful for the Kutaisi-based musicians, as working with dancers and performance actors was a new experience for them. The collaboration demonstrated that there is much more space for music beyond the format of typical live shows.
The exhibition-performance First-Person Pause offered a wide range of artistic experiences, including sensory, visual, musical, and choreographic elements. These components were carefully integrated with attention to detail and sensitivity to the audience's sensory experience.
The intention behind this project was to show that through co-creation, art can grow and transform into new forms while still retaining its Georgian authenticity. We successfully achieved this in Kutaisi, and the project now stands as a stepping stone for future artistic initiatives.
The youth of Kutaisi participated in both the workshop and the performance, engaging both personally and artistically. Witnessing their involvement was truly inspiring, and we believe that this experience has broadened their understanding of what art can be and what it can offer.
