PLAZM PLATFORM

PLAZM is an independent platform for experimental music and contemporary dance/physical theater, dedicated to creating a new collaborative artistic space that encourages the exploration of innovative sonic and physical forms. The platform focuses on research-based, interdisciplinary approaches to performance while also developing new site-specific works. A central aspect of PLAZM’s mission is rewriting the contexts of historical spaces in Tbilisi and beyond, particularly those where post-Soviet trauma and generational divides are most strongly felt, transforming these locations into environments for meaningful artistic investigation and performance.

Greenhouse

Fermenting Dreams” edition of Greenhouse was truly unique. Our breaths and stories connected in a dream-like state. The presence of choreographer Natia Chikvaidze was felt strongly through the amount of movement in space. For two weeks, she curated a public workshop that helped incorporate elements of improvised movement and dance into our performance.

Nino Davadze researched processes of fermentation from acoustic standpoint: microphones were placed in vessels with fermenting fruits, engulfing the room with unique soundscape. As the chemical process unfolded, sounds would intensify and eventually fade away. Fermentation itself was framed as an ecological digestion carried out by diverse bacterial cultures and as a metaphor for a transformational process expressed as and through dreams. Participants shared their personal stories and dreams through performative gestures, both subtle and intense.

Antagonism Of Desire

Antagonism of Desire examines the tension between traditional expectations placed on women in Georgia, entrenched social l norms, and the possibility of alternative identities. Through movement that is deliberately limited, refined, and restrained, the choreography reflects how women navigate life within a patriarchal framework while seeking new modes of existence.

The work engages directly with the current political climate, addressing struggles for freedom, identity, gender equality, and acts of resistance. The piece challenges conventional relationships shaped by gender norms, asking whether recognizing the constructed nature of these social dogmas can be the first step toward dismantling them

Evening Song. So Good. CHECK OUT

Three-part choreographic performance "Evening Song. So good! Check out.” A synthesis of dance and physical theatre that describes the chronic post-traumatic condition. By combining the body memory of 5 female dancers with collective traumas, the performance, on the one hand, shows the drama of people stuck in one place for a long time in a constantly changing time and space, and on the other hand, with sharp, sometimes melancholic humour, it tries to talk about the reasons and circumstances that society forgets collectively and hides the trauma
