This choreography immerses the audience in a raw state of vulnerability, navigating personal struggles of mistrust, frustration, subordination, and the pursuit of freedom. It draws from experiences within a failing healthcare system, where misdiagnosis, medical errors, and disrespectful behavior emerge from a mix of individual choices, cultural dynamics, political conditions, and inadequate infrastructure.
In such an environment, accurate diagnosis often depends not on medical expertise but on proximity, privilege, and personal connections. This creates a climate of suspicion, constant verification, and a loss of trust.
The performance confronts these realities by exposing the impact of medical interventions carried out without consent or clear explanation, exploring how pain, fear, and survival strategies become embedded as bodily memories.
